The Birthday Girl is a Teenager
Today is Ann Ferris' 13th birthday! We can't believe that we have a teenager in the house, but we are so thankful, too. We will have a fun video ready to post in the next few days. For now, we celebrate...

Back to College
Last night at the dinner table Sarah Wynn asked if she had to go to college. Kristy told her that she probably would go to college. Sarah Wynn replied, "Mommy, will you go with me?" Kristy almost melted. :0)

Trip to Mississippi, Part 3 (Mamaw and Papaw's House)
Christmas Day
Yesterday morning was Christmas Day. As others, we woke and experienced the fun of watching our children dive into their gifts, savoring them, overwhelmed at times. That is how we want to experience the gift of God in the gospel. Savoring and enjoying the great grace-gift of Jesus, who is our righteousness, hope, peace, and joy.
And yes, for family readers, photos are on the way!

Surprise Outing to See Christmas Lights
Tonight after the kids got their baths and were dressed for bed, we surprised them by fixing hot chocolate for each of us, getting in the van, putting on Christmas music, and driving around to enjoy Christmas lights. Just making memories.

Trip to Mississippi, Part 1 (Surprise 40th B'day)
After being in Mississippi since last Wednesday, we are now back in Atlanta for the rest of the Christmas season. But we had such a great time, and made many, many memories. Over the next few days, I'll be posting some of them.
Today I have posted sample pics from our overnight at the Coleman's in Money, MS... and my surprise 40th b'day party! Kristy definitely got me. And then she did it again the following night in Jackson with old (literally) college friends. :0)

Christmas Pageant
Tonight was the East Lanier Community Church's Christmas Pageant. I (McKay) was the narrator, Schaeffer was Joseph, Sarah Wynn was a sheep, and Ann Ferris was a Wise Man (or Wise Woman... even though the wise people originally were not at the manger- they arrived much later... in Nazareth). Unfortunately, we forgot the camera. Ugh. But a really fun night.

Kristy Speaking to Women's Group
This morning Kristy is speaking at the Red Sky Cafe in Buford for the East Lanier Community Church women's Christmas brunch. Tonight we plan to watch the Heisman presentation. Today, since it is so cold outside, we may break out some board games.

Christmas Tree Day
Today I have the kids while Kristy is at a church planter wives meeting. Afterward, we plan to drive up to the Kinsey Family Farm to cut our Christmas Tree (and roast marshmallows on their fire pit). Then we will bring it home, start a fire, decorate that puppy, and watch the Grinch!
I should have some fun pics to post.

20th Anniversary
Tonight as Kristy and I were out on our weekly "date night," we realized that this is the 20th anniversary of when we began officially "dating." We are a little behind on wedding anniversaries: this June is #17. Anyway, we went all out and enjoyed soup and conversation at Jason's Deli! :0)

A Great Thanksgiving!
Today we were blessed to have the Hightower and Melendez families over to our home for Thanksgiving. Oh my, what a GREAT day! However, we did miss our family and hope that they had a great day, too. Here are some highlights of today's action, which included a feast, several hikes in the woods and down the creek, trampoline games, dramatic readings, an original play and much more.
